With summer just around around the corner so is the anticipation and excitement for all of the fun, warm, outdoor actives. It's that time where I personally go through all my old summer clothes and get rid of all the things that just aren't "it" anymore. This is a perfect excuse and reward to take a shopping trip, place an order, and add some new pieces to your summer wardrobe. With that being said it's especially important when refreshing your wardrobe you also have the backbone of it, your go to basics. Basics make an outfit and they make your wardrobe!! They are the staple for how many outfits are made. Maybe I'm boring but my go to outfit in the summer is a white t-shirt, jeans, Birkenstock's and a chunky gold hoop. Throw on a little lip-gloss, grab your trusty shoulder bag and sunnies and you are good to go. You've got an effortless look while still looking chic and put together. Here are a couple of summer basics I have in my wardrobe that never fail to make me look classy and ready to take on whatever the day brings.

These are the sandals of summer people!! I feel like everyone knows and has heard of Birkenstock because they are just that amazing! There's so many unique chic styles and colors that make a basic shoe no longer "a basic". These are simply my everyday summer shoe. I can dress it up when going out to dinner or I can dress it down when I'm quickly running for a coffee. No matter your agenda these sandals are perfect for anything in everyday life! Birkenstock's are one of those basics I need in my closet because after rummaging through my closet for an outfit I don't need to think about what shoe I' m paring with it. Jean Shorts

Jean shorts are a summer essential!! Which is too bad because I feel like they always get a bad wrap because a lot of them are usually super uncomfortable and denim in general can be such a pain to get because it can be so specific. But when you have even one good pair of denim shorts they make your life so much better. Having a good classic go to pair of jean shorts is essential for the summer because you can literally pair it anything. Need I say more about having a good pair of jeans? Jeans are the answer to any outfit I feel like. Plus they are a basic necessity we can wear year round, not just in summer.
