ALL ABOUT ME

What Led

As the eldest daughter, I naturally stepped into the role of being in charge. Now, some might say that I was pretty bossy but I mean I’d say I was nice.... most of the time. However I have always always been a leader.  Whether it was with my younger siblings or my cousins I was always the first to lead and do within the family.

Growing up, I always had lot's of energy. My dad used to say, “Thank God you got your mom’s energy,” because I was always doing some sort of thing, I really just couldnt sit still. I was always constantly making, creating or doing. Whether I was baking and leaving my mom’s kitchen a disaster, crafting the ugliest duct tape accessories and trying to sell them to anyone who’d look (overpriced, of course but, hey could sell), or painting all over the dining room table until paint was everywhere—I was that girl. The one who was always doing something.

    To Me Now

What’s led me from childhood to now is that I’m still that same person to my core. I'm still that super energetic, eager to learn, constantly growing person. I’ve taken all my creativity that I've had since I was a kid and decided to use it within the career I'm so incredibly passionate about.

As a current junior majoring in Strategic Communication at one of the best journalism schools in the country, I’ve gained so much knowledge and hands-on experience thanks to the “Missouri Method.” Along with my degree in Journalism, I’m also pursuing a minor in Hospitality Management. My mom is an event planner, so I like to say hospitality and planning are truly in my blood.

I chose to persue and learn more about the hospitality industry becuase, in today’s world, having a product or brand is just not enough. In order to have "a great product" or "a great brand" you need to be able to understand how to communicate it, sell it, and most importantly, show your audience the experience it brings. What set's you apart from others? Learning more about the hospitality industry and the events side of public relations has been such a rewarding and exciting part of my time at Mizzou. I’m excited to apply all my knowledge, potentially working at an agency to support brands and clients I that I love.
